Jailed for allowing smoking.

As far as I know, nobody has yet gone to jail for smoking.

However, a publican has now gone to jail for allowing others to smoke.

In this wonderful free country where everyone has the choice to do as they are told, not doing as you are told is automatically a criminal offence. As is not forcing others to do as they are told while they are on your private property.

The man is in jail for running his business in the way that 95% of his customers wanted it run. That is his only crime. He did what his customers wanted, not what the current Nazi regime wanted.

But let's hear from one of the child-obsessed filth at ASH, Righteous Debbie herself. She can justify this travesty, surely?

Deborah Arnott, chief executive of the anti-smoking group ASH, insisted it was a myth that the anti-smoking legislation had forced pubs out of business.

No, she can't, so she's just going to lie. Well, that's what we've come to expect from these vile and reprehensible perverts so there's no surprise there.

She said: 'Many pubs have shifted their focus to serving food, so they have changed their nature.'

Many pubs have shifted their focus to bankruptcy, you hideous harridan. You did that. You, personally, have destroyed and are still destroying pubs and restaurants and cafes at a rate Genghis Khan would marvel at. You and your child-obsessed pervert gang are still, even now, trying to fine and jail more people for something that is not illegal, for which the harm to others is at best not proven and at worst entirely fabricated, for no other reason than you don't like it.

That's all you really have, Arnott. A personal dislike for something. You have turned it into a crusade that Matthew Hopkins would have delighted in. You are a modern day witchfinder and you have invented as much rubbish as Hopkins did when he was profiting, like you, from the persecution of others. You, Arnott, should not die a quick death.

She added: 'Mr Hogan is the exception, not the norm, because compliance rates for the ban are way above 90 per cent.'

You maniacal old bat. Compliance rates are high because you put people in jail if they don't do as you demand. Compliance rates for any stupid rule are high if you have a gun to your head. Pubs are not banning smoking because they want to. They are banning it because you will put them out of business if they don't. Mr. Hogan is the exception because he was not afraid to lose everything in standing up to you and your Righteous Borg drones. He sees you for what you are, Righteous, as just a bunch of bullying thugs, and you are terrified of that. So he must be crushed and made an example of. Murderers and rapists serve half their sentences. Let's see if that applies to Righteous-deniers too. I bet it doesn't.

ASH consists of nobody who was elected or in any way chosen to rule our lives. It is full of child-obsessed weirdoes and control-freak sociopaths who demand that their arbitrary rules are followed to the letter on pain of violence. ASH is nothing more than a government sponsored protection racket.

Deborah Arnott is pure evil. She will extend her personal morals to every single person in the country whether they like it or not. She is not an elected representative. She is a Witchfinder. Labour are funding a lot of these witchfinders with the money they take from the very people they despise.

If the Tories don't state, categorically, that they will immediately stop all funding to Labour's witchfinders, then I must do all in my limited power to prevent them forming the next government, short of voting Labour. That would be one step too far.

Well, Davey boy, what say you? Are you a Righteous or are you a human being?

Quick now, the election is coming and I have some campaign literature to write for the Smoky-Drinkers.

Sadly, I think we all know the answer to that.

Sadly, I think you're right.

Since yesterday, I'm almost hoping Labour wins the election to teach the Tories a lesson for being an utterly shallow band of cowards. Can you see them changing a single thing? I can even envisage them being unable or unwilling to lift the hunting ban.

No wonder Labour are catching them up in the polls. You might as well vote for the sociopaths you already know and love.

Plus, a Labour victory will make it easier for bloggers - we won't have to become acquainted with a whole new bunch of sociopaths.

"... short of voting Labour. That would be one step too far."

Would it? I mean really, would voting AGAINST the Tories (and therefore in some cases voting FOR Labour) be so difficult?

To be honest, if enough people 'threatened' to do just that, then maybe, just maybe Cameron would get the message. Time though is short and such a strategy does indeed carry risks; not least the possibility that Labour is re-elected.

But what else can we do? If we leave things as they are then its almost certain Cameron becomes PM and embarks upon Phase Two of the Blair Project. Or, alternatively, there's a hung Parliament and Brown/Cameron spend the next session passing the worst of each other's policies.

The worst outcome; a outright Labour victory wouldn't necessarily be all bad either. Its clear from the Brown years that they've run out of ideas and even they are having difficulty buggering up the country further. What is certain though is that later this year the real pain begins and I'm not sure Labour (as the collective entity) has the stomach for it. They'll turn upon themselves like wild dogs. It'll be bloody, terrifying and a laugh a second for all those who have been watching from the sidelines. Bring it on I say.

PS. You wouldn't believe the Word Verification your blog is displaying right now!!!

Sorry.

This is it: Word Verification

Unbelievable.

One key difference between Hopkins and Arnott. Everything suggests that Hopkins would have claimed to believe in anything if it allowed him to torture and pocket the fee. Arnott believes she is doing the work of some higher power or other. Zealotry rules ok.

iDave will have the same policies, with a pretty face. Labour has put bells and whistles onto EU directives - many of which it pushed for in the EC. In that respect, the Cons might be a smidgeon better.

Might we hope that publicans are sensible enough to vote for small parties and independents, and urge their customers to do the same?

It might boost their custom, if they did.

Nick Hogan is a brave man for standing up against the bullies.

As for Deborah Arnott's comment - well, she's psychologically retarded.

One of our favourite cafes closed down about 12 months ago. It used to be full of smokers every lunchtime, to the point where it was hard to get a seat some days. After the smoking ban the place became emptier and emptier. Then one day I went to meet a friend and it had closed down, just like that. The owner just gave up trying to run her business with a dwindling customer base - it was obvious that she was put out of business by the smoking ban as prior to the ban she was doing a roaring trade and needed to employ 5 other people to help her.

I also noticed in our local paper the other day that 6 pubs are in administration and one of the main reasons quoted for their dwindling business was the smoking ban.

Oh that's right, Arnott says the above isn't true. Well, it clearly is true so ergo anything she says is a lie. I really am looking forward to the day when that bitch gets her come-uppance (and preferably the punishment will be meted out to her by all the out of work landlords).

I like your comparison of Anott to Mathew Hopkins(Witch Finder General), this stinking little wretch is carrying on a fine tradition of middle-ages wild eyed despotic zealotry that knows no bounds.
Even as I write this…I’m busy whittling down a hefty log to a nice point which will be used to impale this cunt and three-quarters!

Why do I have to be so rude?

Yes, six months sounds about right. Not.

This government, and their fake charities, truly disgust me.

Arnott is merely representative of a personality type that exchanges evil behaviour and lies for cash. These people (often referred to as Cockroaches) have always existed. Unfortunately, British people no longer crush them under a hobnailed boot like they used to.

Nuke California is right, and begin with San Francisco, outdoor bans, $500 fines, gold plated no outdoor smoking signs bolted to buildings, retail bans, private home bans, the list goes on.

Nick Hogan is a hero, but he needs a lot of demonstrative public support out in the open where the mainstream cameras can't avoid seeing it and a mass demonstration of illegal criminal smoking right in the government's class dividing and conquering, illicit power grabbing, Hitlerian tactical little prim-faced, pinch-nosed faces.

Black civil rights won their freedoms but it required sitting on the front of the bus to do so, against the law at the time.

Gays won theirs but had to come outside of the bar and throw bricks at the coppers sent out to arrest them all.

Smokers will eventually at some point have to do the same, a decision that needs faced up to as the time may already be upon us, thanks to this final solution of putting people in prison for the crime of exercising the rightful free choice of using a legal tax paid product on one's own personal and not state-owned (yet) property.

Arnott, like all of ASH and similar fake-charity types are in it for the money and have no moral conscience they are selling out freedom, liberty and property rights to those who have large sums of money and wish to redevelop and gentrify the shuddered pubs into more lily-pure venues serving only the indoctrinated elite. The whole thing's circular in nature among those at the top and holding the power while ignoring the common person on the street who becomes criminalized for not believing the same.

It's to the point of beyond disgusting, it's beyond traitorous.

This just lifted from the ASH website:

"Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) was established in 1971 by the Royal College of Physicians. It is a campaigning public health charity that works to eliminate the harm caused by tobacco. We do not attack smokers or condemn smoking."

As if..........illiberal fascists.

I think the tide may be turning: even Daily Mail ranters are getting fed up with, and nervous of, the persecution of smokers. Have they finally realised that they are next? Well done to the bloke who pushed the anti-smoking bitch off a railway platform. More of this, please!

Donation button on Old Holborn's blog. Pay with Paypal or card to help Nick pay the ridiculous costs they imposed. Once he's paid he's free to go. Not only can we get Nick out but we can truly stick it to the system. Imagine how the Stasi will feel once Nick walks free within a week because despite their manipulations of the law, the people won't stand for it.

Free Nick AND show the bastards in power what we think of their bans. ASH and their ilk may have the funding and the ears of the slackjaws in Parliament, but we have right and strength and dignity on ours, things they simply can't understand.

Please donate at Old Holborn's blog.
