Mr. Huhne, your thermometer is upside down.

An idiot standing against a wall, happy in the knowledge that it is where he truly belongs.
(Picture sectioned from here).

Last year was apparently the worst winter for 30 years. This year we have the earliest sustained snowfall and the coldest November for 17 years. The last three summers have been the coldest and wettest in living memory. Weather is not climate. Weather is what happens day to day. Climate is what happens over a period of years. To anyone not blinkered by a climatology grant or other vested interest, the climate is self-evidently becoming rapidly colder. Don't tell the Greens, they have much work to do. Those elderly won't get onto the ice floes by themselves, you know.

Last winter, the Green Agenda managed to kill off 28,160 pensioners in mainland UK, and did their best to boost their tally by trying to shut down a power station. Keep that in mind while looking at the picture above because this is the man who is going to do something about it. Doesn't he look pleased with himself?

Because you see, that figure simply isn't good enough. This year, the Greens will want to see their suited puppets double it at least. So, the imbecile above, on the day we are told that we can expect to be frozen earlier than usual, announces he is jetting off to Cancun to find ways to stop us turning the heating on because of... global warming. Politician and green campaigner air miles don't produce any carbon. Only the plebs produce carbon. That's why they try to put us off flying by employing perverts at security.

Security will never grope a politician's groin. They already know there's nothing to find there.

Next year, the government will announce a dramatic reduction in the population of the UK and hail it as a victory for their tough stance on immigration. In reality, nobody will have left. They'll all still be here.

In the ground.

You beat me to it.

Was at work last night, went out for a smoke at about 03:00 and the flame on my lighter froze. That was in bloody Kent so I can only imagine what it is like up your end of the country. Watch out for the polar bears when you're standing at the bus stop. . .

It's not funny either. When I did my Artic Warfare Basic - Istforden) the training staff told us about death in sub-zero temperatures.

My cousin, a postman in Dorset, found an old boy dead in his armchair last winter. He was clutching his war medals and an old photo of his wife.

Politicians make me sick.

Not funny at all ...

I live in Norway, and last year the mainland had down to -30C, but we had power and most houses also have wood-burning stoves as well ...

But, power generation is now 'stretched' and the "Greens" will not approve either Gas-Turbine or Nuclear powered electricity - so, I guess we'll be having the same thing soon ...

p.s. - I was on "Svalbard" a couple of years ago, in early Winter - even the Polar Bears were complaining about the cold ! ...

Meanwhile, there is to be another silly conference - or "Climate Summit" as the BBC calls it all about the "greenhouse gas" fraud.

As I have complained before, the BBC still uses the phrase "Global Warming". What global warming?

Good post.

I've never been so cold in November.

" the BBC still uses the phrase "Global Warming""

I know. It's so last year. We've had 'climate change' and 'global climate disruption' since then.

A wankfest to Cancun for the warmists this week. Be better for the climate if they were put in strait jackets and tied to their beds.

"to kill off 28,160..."

Fuck me, that's worse than passive smoking.

Why doesn't the government DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

And by the way, if they reduce Scotland's population by that much there would be nobody left to wipe your arse Susan Hampshire, or treat David Attanborough's piles, or empty their bins or do their landscaping jobs on their lovely picturesque highland estates.

They'll all be be dead soon anyway, so we can make them "carbon neutral" by burying the cunts.

Huhne is a clueless, poisonous berk and a green zealot, have a look at the ranting turd.

The constant PR churnalism in the MSM led by the tirelesss berks scaremongering at the BBC continues apace. It seems to get shriller by the day ...

Well below freezing in Devon and its such a joy watching the different power companies putting up the prices.
Rip off Britain at its best.

'Today' reports this morning that the Met Office is saying that this is set to be the hottest year on record if November and December are included (surely I must have misheard?)

Also keeps announcing the publication (by the WHO) of the first international study into passive smoking which 'is particularly dangerous to children' and is estimated (natch) to kill 600,000 people a year.

Snowolf - only a couple of inches of snow so far but it's bitterly cold. The remaining pubs will be lucky to survive this winter.

Hello Chief Skeptic,
I too live in the land of the stuffed polar bear. Whereabouts are you?
Leg-iron, even people here in Norway, who really, really should know better, can be idiots when it comes to planning for the winter. Not buying your firewood early enough means damp logs (more smoke, more soot and less heat), no grit means a front path and drive that would do service as an ice skating rink. Year after year there is a run on crutches at local A&E departments because people forget that whilst fashionable shoes are fine in the car they ain't so useful in an iced over car park. The English have no monopoly on being idiots.

Do children still make 'slides' in the street or playground - or have they been banned (I'd be surprised if they haven't since they involved fun with a modicum of danger).

I'd recommend everyone read this article by Matt Ridley asap.

There are a number of points he makes in there that make my eyes pop out of my head; I already knew that the government was doing precisely zero to harness shale gas, however I had no idea how much of a boon it was as potential energy supply, making the government's action look now criminally insane.

That wasn't the best part though, this was:

"Every wind turbine has a magnet made of a metal called neodymium. There are 2.5 tonnes of it in each of the behemoths that have just gone up to spoil my view in Northumberland. The mining and refining of neodymium is so dirty (involving repeated boiling in acid, with radioactive thorium as a waste product), that only one country does it: China."

That single fact should finish wind power off for good, if we lived in anything like a rational society. But of course it won't, and we don't and there are too many personal vested interests in wind in Government.

A lot of older folk used to spend a few hours in a warm pub enjoying a pint and a smoke. This was cheaper than having the heating on at home.
Now they have to stand out in the freezing cold outside the pub to smoke. So they stay home and die because they can't heat their homes.
The social isolation probably loses them the will to live to boot.
