There was a time...

...not so long ago, when the Righteous were seen for what they are.

We even told our children about them.

Blimey, one of my first memories, along with Four feather falls.

Trouble is that today this would be interpreted as assault and the police would be called in.

That's really disturbing. :)

Only slightly O/T (if at all) but have you seen Clegg's dismissal of review of the smoking ban (over at Taking Liberties)?

Well, now we know what we all probably suspected anyway.

Time for direct action, I think, and there was a guy some months ago, Leggy, who kept mentioning his website on here. You responded that you'd list it on your sidebar but I can't find it. He had a novel idea to get round the ban (something like a smoke-drinky which admitted strangers).

Does anyone have the link?

Funny, I was just thinking the words "direct action" myself. Also left a comment on Cleggy's Facebook. Join in the fun!

But seriously, if I had the "connections" I'd be considering VERY direct action. This has gone beyond political disagreement. This has become war. The most widely commented discussion on the site with more people than not supporting it (thanks again ASH for your clearly accurate surveys in the past) and he just dismisses it. I also liked the way he linked people who believe in private property rights with the hang 'em and flog 'em brigade. Nice.

Then the icing on the cake, below the video there is the site blub - "Get commenting. It's Your Freedom!"

Mr A - I'm convinced that Pharma's bribed HMG with cheap drugs. I can't think why else the issue would be so stonewalled by every single politician.

Wonder if it would be worth starting a site which would act as a database for smokers who want to take direct action, where they could leave their name and geographical area with a view to getting organised and physically meeting and 'flash smoking' in pubs

Bloody hell, I'd forgotten all about that one .. Lol

"Kala, Kala Makooyah" etc etc ..

We had a lad who lived across the road from us, who wasn't the "full shilling" & who worked as an usher at the local flea-pit .. he was known as "Torchy" .. (for obvious reasons) ..

I bet he dreaded Saturday mornings .. the amount of grief we gave him .. Lol

Anon - the organised smoky-drinky guy was Leafar. There's a link to his site below the blogroll, under 'smoky and drinky linkies'.

Wossat? - There's definitely a distinction between nonsmokers and antismokers.

It's the antismokers we're at war with, not the nonsmokers.

Thanks Leg-iron. I can live with that. You have a great blog which I read on a regular basis. What's more it's an intelligent one with kick 'em in the 'nads reasoned arguments. Keep up the good work.
