The scary book is cheaper for a while.

Apparently Lulu messed up. I don't know what or how, it was something to do with their cataloguing system, but as an apology they have sent me a discount code for the short stories book (print only, the download was free anyway and I don't think it applies to the Ebook).

This is most agreeable of them and encourages me to make use of their services in the future. They did this not in response to any complaint - I hadn't realised anything had gone wrong - but entirely independently. Not many companies would do that nowadays.

So if you haven't ordered the book and have been considering it, you can get it at 15% discount until 15th August.

Of course, the download version is still free for those who can read a whole book on a screen. I can't.

Ooh, glad I hadn't got round to buying your book yet now. Though really you're under selling yourself.

I don't expect to get rich from this one. Or the next one which will be a collection of unpublished stories. I'll need to take more care with that since they won't have passed a professional editor's desk.

The one after that, however, I have higher hopes for. As long as I can persuade a real publisher to take it on.

Maybe not rich, but hope you at least get enough for a decent bottle or two out of it.

Hey, if it keeps me in decent whisky, it's good enough.

There's no point earning more anyway. I'd just pay more tax.

You owe me 78p. Cough up you bastard.

Seriously, I really enjoyed this collection. It kind of reminded me of Ramsey Campbell (when he was good - not in his Lovecraft-obsessed days). Very British, normal bloke type stuff but with a creeping sense of "wrongness" and horror (and with some nice twists of black humour). Liked it a lot. Was disappointed the trainline story wasn't in it - I really liked that one.

P.S. Liked the appearance of the infamous Leg-Iron" helmet on the back cover... :)

Mr A - there'll be a second book. I'll make sure the train story is in there ;)
