All it would ...Whether he was or not is immaterial. All it would take is two such phone calls and he'll get visited and told off. Three or four might get him a caution. Maybe even an ASBO.

Been reading about cautions recently. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the police offer you a caution, you don't have to accept it. You can insist that they prosecute you normally, in which case you get your day in court. (Assuming that the CPS even bother to prosecute you: unlikely in the sorts of cases being discussed here as they would most likely lose.)

Incidentally it's always a good idea to refuse a caution, even if you know you're guilty, because a caution means a criminal record and will be very inconvenient if you want to visit a non-EU country, particularly the USA. Various people have been fooled into thinking that a caution is just a strong talking-to, not realising that it's actually a very formal admission of criminality.Vladimirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03343205052620782883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2170981338945747646.post-74994447496523558142010-09-20T12:09:30.344+01:002010-09-20T12:09:30.344+01:00l retract my previous comment although the stateme...l retract my previous comment although the statement issued by Chief Morrison was not quite correct. Soldiers are not soldiers if they do not fight for something, and the state is not a military one for they are not exercising their might for something; they are doing simply because they can. And that is it. If they did it for a reason then it would have been an entirely different story but they aren't.13th Spitfirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17559256605304975963noreply@blogger.com
